Lets get this show on the road...

Ok...The birthday is over. Now I am ready to jet off.

We leave in 20 days. Flying out of Calgary on March 30, on a 30 hr voyage to Bankok. That flight is going to be pure hell, and I expect to be tired, stinky, and grumpy by the time we land in bangkok.

The good news is that we aren't there for long. Just enough time to sleep, and then we are up and outta there to go to Phuket. Afterall, we might as well start with some tropical beaches, seeing its -30 today in Calgary as I write this.

So I am not much of a beach guy. But for the first time in my life, I am pretty excited to just chill out for a while on the sandy beaches. I am also not a heat guy. I am NOT looking forward to the sweltering 40-degree heat that we have in store for us. As long as I have an Ocean at my disposal, I think I will be fine. Its when we get into places like Laos that I am going to melt out of my skin.

Anyways...I am going to update this. Even before I leave. I am kinda getting the hang of this 'writting for myself' thing, and if others want to read along with me, knock yourself out. Comments and tips are appreciated.

    Hi Marty,
    Enjoy your adventure through SE Asia. Thailand is beautiful and I loved our adventure there. A few ideas for consideration - we rented a moped on the islands to get around and see the island (be sure to ask for a helmet and they will look at you like you are crazy to want one). If you go to Ko Samui, head to the outdoor reastuarants off the beaten path. Good food at a good price. Can't wait to read about you adventures and misadventures.

    If you want any advice/ideas for SE Asia - hit me up. It wasn't that long ago that I was there. Oh, and I laughed pretty hard at the Marty doesn't like the heat comment! Bahaha....we had some HOT times in Eastern Europe didn't we?! I still remember you hating me and Brock because you were sweating so much. That is why I love you :)
