I think I love Koh Phi Phi - Thai rockers, and magnificent sights!

Another day in paradise! Seriously, this has been a great day.

First off, lets clear up the unfinished business of last night! Great times! I ended up sitting on the porch of our guesthouse with a couple girls from France and Austrailia just hanging out and drinking beer….as the night went on, the group decided that a bar was in order,so we gathered the troops (BCers, Michele and co) and headed to a bar called ‘The Rolling Stone’. What we saw there was something I will never forget…a cover band on the Island of Koh Phi Phi called ‘The Real Thailand’. Amazing, even with the broken english. They stood on stage taking random requests from the audience…Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Weezer, SYSTEM OF A DOWN (!!!), Rage, etc…it goes on and on….and it was so much fun.

‘Tunder-Struck!’ (yes, TUNDER!)

Eventually the dance floor filled, and was whipped into a frenzy as ‘Smells like Teen Spirit’ echoedt hrough the outdoor bar. It got to the point where the lead singer, a thai with sub-par english’ passed the mic to me to sing a chorus of the song while headbanging the song away. Epic!

‘Wit or Witout you’

And the whole time, we were downing 600ml beer for 100 baht ($3.50).

Once the bar closed at 2am, the party did not stop….it just moved to the beach! Needless to say, I once again woke up with the same ‘cloudy’ feeling in my head. Something tells me this could become a little bit of a trend!

After some breaky this morning (pineapple and watermelon), we were off to go experience the best of what P.P has to offer. After some failed negotiations for a longtail boat (thank god we are NOW with the master of the barter – keep reading) we decided the best thing to do would be rent a kayak…off we were from the main beach to a place called ‘Monkey beach’…I got some kick ass pics of monkeys right up to my camera…then some snorkeling…then time to head to another beach. I don’t even really know what to say about it. I think the picture can do the talking….I took this picture, and it does not do justice to the actual view of this place.

So once we fought our way back to the main beach through storm surge, and got back to the guesthouse just in time to hear he scariest sound ever: ‘Hello you bellend’ in and English accent. I immediately knew I was in deep shit, as my buddy dave had officially found me!

So him and his aussie ‘friend’ Erin, and Michele and myself went for a meal, and eventually headed to the beach to hang out. Basically it was 4 hrs of Dave and I catching up while Erin and Michele tried to add words in when we stopped for air.

So, here I sit, freshly showered, and once again adorning my ass groves on the portch, writing a blog while my beer gets warm. Dave and erin are due back in about 20 mins where…well, who knows what will happen tonight. There are rumors of heading to a bar called ‘Reggae Bar’ where they actually have a muay-tai ring, and fights are held nightly. Tourists are also allowed to get into the ring for exhibition fights, and my cocky English friend has challenged me to a dual. Rumble on the Islands!

I will let you know tomorrow how it ends up….he’s a pussy!
